The Selkirk Common Riding Trust met on Tuesday 8th May and appointed Johnny Thomson as the Honorary Provost.
Johnny is on the Common Riding Trust as the Trustee from Selkirk Merchant Company. He follows Jim Newlands as Provost for the Selkirk Common Riding Trust and will lead the celebration of Selkirk Common Riding in June, 2001.
Also appointed were Chalmers Stillie as Senior Baillie and Campbell Bunyan as Junior Baillie. Chalmers Stillie represents the Selkirk Incorporation of Weavers on the Trust, Campbell Bunyan, the Common Riding Executive.
