Visit to Selkirk by over 40 from Selkirk’s twin town Plattling, Bavaria.
Part of the visit by the visitors from Plattling to Selkirk from Friday 13th to Monday 16th August was a guided walk “Ring o’ the toon” with Margaret Smith leading and Astrid Hahne (from Plattling) translating.
The group included Siegfried Scholz, Chairman of the STEPs Committee in Plattling (who organised the visit) and Astrid Hahne, Secretary of the STEPs Committee.
The visitors left Plattling on Wednesday by coach and took an overnight ferry to Hull and arrived in Selkirk on Friday afternoon where they were met by the host families and friends.
On Saturday the group had a trip to Edinburgh.
They toured the Scottish Borders and East Lothian on the Sunday. The Plattling Association organised a Scots evening and disco in the County Hotel in the evening.
The party left Selkirk on Monday morning and will arrive in Plattling late on Tuesday evening.
